- Warplanes from China and Russia staged joint air patrols over the Sea of Japan, East China Sea and Western Pacific on Wednesday, China's Defence Ministry said.
The ministry described Wednesday’s patrols as a “routine” part of an annual cooperation plan between the two militaries.
Earlier on Wednesday, South Korea and Japan both said they had scrambled fighter jets in response to the Chinese and Russian warplanes nearing their airspace.

This is why instead of pouring military aid to the Ukraine we should be assisting in helping Japan rebuild and increase the size of their military.
Both are necessary. 1 strategic ports Russia would gain. 2 we have to show taking over a democracy is not gonna fly. 3 this will for sure lead to an expansion of nato even if it doesn’t include Ukraine it happens because of the support shown. 4 Japan is gaining trust in us because of our show of support. 5 not that anybody invited it but this has dwindled Russia’s military supply.

So it appears that their so called stealth planes are not so stealthy. JAPAN and South Korea can see them. Maybe JAPAN should practice launching a dozen or so Anti aircraft missiles to see how well they work. Testing them and see if the Chinese and Russian pilots have practice evasion of missiles.

Nothing really wrong with propellers, they work just fine and there has been a resurgence of propeller driven aircrafts for anti-insurgency operations to reduce the cost.
The Tu-95 has worse range than a B-52 but if it push the throttle it could fly faster than the B-52 itself.
Point is, propeller aircrafts aren’t obsolete they’re just no longer meta.
They are used for surveillance and hunting subs. You don't want fast flying jets for that.

The PRC invaded Vietnam in 1979 after Vietnam attacked Cambodia in 1978. The PRC and Vietnam had some clashes afterwards, until 1991. I recommend looking up the casualty counts from the Sino-Vietnamese War and seeing how the different sides fared.

They didn't attack, so why would they be shot down? They entered South Korea's ADIZ, or Air Defense Identification Zone, which is a large area, within which it's a good idea to identify oneself and one's intentions to South Korea. Scrambling jets is a reasonable response in such a situation.
ADIZ is not sovereign airspace, it is a n area where nations can deploy fighter to intercept or inspect approaching foreign or unidentified aircraft. Only if they enter japan's or south Korean territorial airspace they will be shot down after repetead warnings.

It's just an area before your airspace that everyone is supposed to announce themselves and who they are and what their intentions are. United States Air Force does this all the time there's plenty of actual videos of them doing it he will hear them just keep repeating that they are not entering sovereignerspace they are acting in accordance with international law that they are part of the United States Air Force on a routine patrol. We do this a lot around the Chinese fake islands that they put up, in the middle of international waters.
